Montréal, August 18, 2014 – Registration for the Massive online open course Un corps en équilibre, c’est vital! Introduction à la biologie humaine is now freely available on our new platform ouvert.cegepadistance.ca.

This MOOC is the first in a series that Cégep à distance will offer to anyone who wants to develop specific competencies and knowledge. The initiative will also support success and professional development and meet needs that arise through specific social issues.

The MOOC is for high-school graduates who intend to study science or health techniques and want to assess their knowledge in this discipline. It is also ideal for CEGEP health sciences students who want to reinforce their learning. Finally, it is also open to anyone looking for a better understanding of the human body in order to make the best choices for their health.

Structured in four modules, the course will be given over four weeks by Véronique Campbell, Ph.D. in biology from the Université de Montréal and a biology teacher at the Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe. The content focuses on developing a systematic understanding of the human body by exploring everything from components that are invisible to the naked eye – cells and molecules – to its larger structures, organs and systems.

A video overview and course registration instructions for Un corps en équilibre, c’est vital! – Introduction à la biologie humaine can be found at ouvert.cegepadistance.ca.
