Three student-athletes at Cégep à distance receive RDS scholarships

Montréal, June 19, 2014 – At the annual Fondation Sport-Études golf tournament on Monday, June 16, three student-athletes on commandite at Cégep à distance each received an RDS scholarship worth $1,000, in recognition for their academic and athletic efforts:

  • Laurent Dauphin, hockey (LHJMQ) (Cégep de Chicoutimi)
  • Louis-Philip Guindon, hockey (LHJMQ) (Cégep de Drummondville)
  • Frédérique Vézina, cross-country skiing (Cégep Garneau)

Cégep à distance extends its congratulations to the three winners and encourages them to continue to work toward their goals. A photo of all the recipients is available on the Alliance Sport-Études website.

The Fondation Sport-Études raised the record sum of $80,000 at this year’s golf tournament. We encourage you to read the press release about it.

Cégep à distance is proud to be an affiliated member of the Alliance Sport-Études. In collaboration with its member CEGEPs, the Alliance offers students academic and organizational support. With Cégep à distance, it coordinates distance education needs and recognition of physical education experience.

Cégep à distance is an integral part of the Collège de Rosemont, offering programs in French that lead to a diploma of college studies (DEC, for its French acronym) or an attestation of college studies (AEC, for its French acronym). Some courses are also offered in English. Every year, some 18,000 people register for one or more of the 140 credit courses offered in French and English, for a total of 28,000 course registrations. All courses are offered in the continuous registration model.
